THERESA May’s Christmas speech that hailed the work of the UK’s Armed Forces has been slapped down by an officer that has claimed troops are only getting £1 per person for Christmas celebrations, it has emerged. The soldier, stationed in Kabul, blasted the huge gap in soldier treatment compared to the US shortly after Theresa May praised troops for “humbling bravery” and “daily sacrifices”. The officer said: “The contrast between the American and British approach is staggering. “As an army, we don’t have as much money as the US, but even the Danish and Mongolians seem to be doing more. “They haven’t even sent us enough for a coffee. “The Americans send in more money to feed the stray cats on their compound.” The 500 UK troops in the region have been given £500 to celebrate with, tallying up to a mere £1 per soldier.
