Tory Councillor quits after tweeting that "White people are now oppressed"

AN Evesham councillor has resigned from the Conservative group at Wychavon District Council after a controversial retweet using Adolf Hitler to make a joke. Cllr Matt Snape, Wychavon District Councillor for Evesham South will now serve as an independent candidate until the elections in May 2019. The Tories just keep proving themselves to be Nazis. In the retweet, from Twitter user @BasedTacitus who claims "whites are the oppressed now" in his Twitter biography, a picture of Adolf Hitler is provided with the caption "Have you experienced hate speech?" "Give us a call on nein nein nein." Cllr Snape told his Facebook followers: "Sadly, my journalism and politics conflicted with each other. That is the only thing I regret. I do not regret supporting the message behind the poor tweet. "I have resigned from the Conservative Group and will serve my residents until May 2019 as an independent. I will not let this affect my duty as a councill

I think we should have a Margaret Thatcher statue ... with a twist

Margaret Thatcher statue will not be erected in Parliament Square due to ‘monument saturation’ but I honestly think they should put a Thatcher statue up ... ... With statues of the children who were abused by Savile, all stood around her crying.  Proposals for a Margaret Thatcher statue in Parliament Square look set to be rejected because there are too many monuments in the area. It also fails to comply with a 10-year principle which states that no statues should be erected until a decade after the subject’s death to “allow partisan passions to cool and enable sober reflection”.
