The Tories have killed more disabled people than the Nazis did

Image
On July 14, 1933, the Nazi government instituted the “Law for the Prevention of Progeny with Hereditary Diseases.” This law, one of the first steps taken by the Nazis toward their goal of creating an Aryan “master race,” called for the sterilization of all persons who suffered from diseases considered hereditary, such as mental illness, learning disabilities, physical deformity, epilepsy, blindness, deafness, and severe alcoholism. With the law’s passage, the Third Reich also stepped up its propaganda against people with disabilities, regularly labelling them “life unworthy of life” or “useless eaters” and highlighting their burden upon society. Just a few years later, the persecution of people with disabilities escalated even further. In the autumn of 1939, Adolf Hitler secretly authorized a medically administered program of “mercy death” code-named “Operation T4,” in reference to the address of the program’s Berlin headquarters at Tiergartenstrasse 4. Disability murderer Esther McVey back at the DWP: The Reactions

Image
Her appointment late last night was met with derision from MPs, who all expressed concern for those in need based on her track record in the DWP. Wirral South MP Alison McGovern said she was “gobsmacked” to hear news of the former GMTV presenter’s return to a cabinet role. She said: “Like many in Merseyside, I am gobsmacked that anyone would think Esther McVey ought to be appointed Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. “People in Wirral West rejected her in 2015 when she was Minister for Work after her government failed to act on zero hours contracts, made life immeasurably harder for people with disabilities, and set in train cuts to family income that will see child poverty grow by 400,000 over the next few year. “Her Government also introduced the 2011 changes to women’s pensions that hammered women born in the 1950s.” The Labour MP added: “That is a terrible record in office and does not bode well for the future. “We need a Labour Government to make sure that...

May drops manifesto promise to allow foxhunting vote. Theresa May has confirmed that she has ditched plans that would have allowed the end of the ban on foxhunting, in the latest attempt to repair the Conservatives’ reputation on animal rights. In a U-turn that will anger some party members and supporters in its rural heartlands, she revealed that she was dropping plans in the Tory election manifesto to hold a parliamentary vote on reversing the ban. The prime minister voted against the ban when it was introduced under Tony Blair and New Labour. However, the decision to include a vote on the repeal of the ban has been blamed by some Tory MPs as contributing to the party’s disastrous result. Now that she has backed down and done another this time welcome U-Turn on fox Hunting it would be nice if she backed down on disabled people hunting.  120,00 DEAD because of Tory Austerity The consequences of that have led to an accusation of “economic mu...

This is why you need to know about it. the Naylor Review - a dry 46-page NHS estate rationalisation study published two months ago. So why has this boring-sounding document become news now? It is  a 46-page report  published on March 31 by Sir Robert Naylor, former boss of the NHS trust that runs University College London Hospital. Tory Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt asked him to look independently at what should be done with 'surplus' NHS property and crumbling old buildings. Now,...
