In December, Mr Yezhov was detained by Ukrainian security on suspicion of funnelling information to the Kremlin. Yezhov previously worked at the Ukrainian embassy in the United States, during which time he visited the White House. It's understood he was present at private meetings between Mrs May and Groysman, who does not speak English well. Mr Yezhov has pleaded not guilty to charges, but is being held in custody pending an investigation.

A child abuse survivor who served on the panel of the Government's independent inquiry has told talkRADIO she was silenced to ensure Theresa May could become Prime Minister . Sharon Evans, who also runs the charity Dot Com, told John Nicolson the child abuse inquiry was all about controlling information, and she fears the Grenfell Tower inquiry will proceed along the same lines. Evans was a senior figure and a public face at the inception of the inquiry, which was set up in 2015 following the Jimmy Savile paedophilia scandal while May was still home secretary. May drops manifesto promise to allow foxhunting vote. Theresa May has confirmed that she has ditched plans that would have allowed the end of the ban on foxhunting, in the latest attempt to repair the Conservatives’ reputation on animal rights. In a U-turn that will anger some party members and supporters in its rural heartlands, she revealed that she was dropping plans in the Tory election manifesto to hold a parliamentary vote on reversing the ban.
